1990: Spartacus

This year, our show was based on the story and music from the ballet "Spartacus," with the original music written by Aram Khatchaturian. The band represented Spartacus, while the colorguard represented Phrygia.

The local news featured us in a nice segment showing our last rehearsal before we left for Nationals competition:

Here is our percussion ensemble (pit and battery) performing at the Bands of America Nationals Percussion Festival. They placed 4th:

Here is our band at the Bands of America Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. We placed 9th that year.

Of my four years in band (1989-1993) this was the best show we did. The drumline wasn't as good as the year before, but overall the show was fantastic.

OMG, I can't believe I found this online LOL. Ahh, memories. Spartacus was one of the best shows I had ever performed in and it was blast with all the hard work we put into it. The flute section was fun, even if I was the only guy flute player ha!
